Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Drams Direct collects when you use www.dramsdirectonline.com, how we use it and what your rights are. Drams Direct is the data controller for this information under UK data protection law.
1. Information we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number. We also record that you confirmed you are 18 or over and accepted our terms.
- Seller details. Your address, which is used as the sender address on shipping labels, and the information needed to pay you.
- Order details. What you bought or sold, the price, the delivery address, the contact phone number for delivery and the tracking information.
- Listings and messages. The descriptions and photos you upload, the offers you make and the messages you send to other users through the site.
- Payment information. Payments and seller identity checks are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number or your identity documents. We receive confirmation of the payment and of your verification status.
- Technical information. Basic information about your device and how you use the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, which we use to keep the site secure and working.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account, and to check that users are 18 or over
- To process orders, payments, payouts, refunds and deliveries
- To send you emails about your account and your orders, such as order confirmations, shipping updates and delivery confirmation requests
- To resolve problems and disputes between buyers and sellers
- To prevent fraud, counterfeit goods and misuse of the site
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
- To send you marketing emails, only if you have asked to receive them
The legal bases we rely on are: performing our contract with you, complying with the law, our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable marketplace, and your consent for marketing.
3. Who we share it with
- The other party to your order. When you buy, the seller sees your name, delivery address and phone number so that the bottle can be sent to you. The buyer sees the seller's name or display name.
- Stripe, which processes payments and payouts and carries out seller verification.
- Delivery companies, such as DPD, which receive the sender and recipient details needed to deliver the parcel.
- Service providers that host the site and the marketplace software, store data and send our emails. They act on our instructions and may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Authorities and advisers, where the law requires it, or where it is needed to prevent crime or to protect our rights or those of other users.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers store or process information outside the United Kingdom. When that happens, we make sure it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. Records of orders and payments are kept for up to six years after the transaction, because we need them for tax, accounting and legal reasons. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise the information we no longer need.
6. Marketing
We only send marketing emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Emails about your account and orders are not marketing, and you will continue to receive them.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are needed for the site to work. See our Cookies Policy for details.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
- ask for your information in a portable format
- withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Under 18s
Drams Direct is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No website can be completely secure, so please use a strong password on your email account and tell us if you suspect any misuse.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site.
